That performance tuning is still considered to be a dark art is attributable to the lack of understanding of performance tuning best practices. In this talk Dan, our typical developer, will go bumbling off in an attempt to tune a poorly performing application. During the process we will introduce a number of best practices that could have helped him reach his performance goals, without the need of magic.
